Richard W. Cousins, 89, of North Buffalo Township, died Thursday, October 12, 2017 in his home.
Born February 13, 1928, in North Buffalo Township, he was a son of the late Harvey H. and Pricilla (Bowser) Cousins.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Eljer Plumbingware after 40 years of service as a caster. Mr. Cousins was a member of North Buffalo Grace Brethren Church. He was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, going to camp, cutting firewood, and riding his four-wheeler. He loved to tinker, and had formerly owned a junkyard.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Kenneth) Boarts of Kittanning, and Delores (Mark) Rago of Apollo; a son, William P. (Bonita) Cousins of Vandergrift; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Ethel Jones of Worthington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Morelli) Cousins; a granddaughter, Angela Boarts; a brother, Peter Levi Cousins; and a sister, Nellie Mae Creel.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, at North Buffalo Grace Brethren Church, with Pastor James Rose, officiating. There will be additional visitation at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Ford City Cemetery.
