Robert Lee Kuhns, 83, of Ford City, died Thursday, January 27, 2022, at home.
He was born June 28, 1938, in Curtisville, to the late Pearl Emma (Miersch) Wagner.
A 1957 graduate of Freeport High School, he retired from the U.S. Navy, after many years of service. He was subsequently employed for 14 years by Florida Power and Light, from which he retired in 1993.
He was a member of Ford Memorial United Methodist Church in Ford City. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Goosecreek, SC, the Shrine in Miami, FL, and the VFW. He enjoyed hunting and traveling, and crossed the United States eight times, never traveling the same road twice.
He is survived by his wife, Carol E. (Frantz) Kuhns; his children, Wanda Lynn (Pat) Carman of Oregon, and Brian (Lisa) Kuhns of Vermont; his grandchildren, Jessica Carman and Nikolas Kuhns; two great-grandchildren, Ian and Coraline; a sister, Martha Shaw of Florida; and a stepsister, Betty Jane Freehling of Dayton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Ralph Wagner.
Viewing and services will be held privately. His dear friend, Rev. Craig Peterson, will officiate at the service. Entombment will take place in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
