Roxie E. Smathers

Roxie E. Smathers, 92, of North Buffalo Township, died Friday, February 6, 2026, at ACMH Hospital.

Born December 12, 1933, she was a daughter of the late John and Vonnie (Campbell) Smathers.

Prior to her retirement, Roxie worked for Moonlight Mushrooms and Sail Care.

She was a member of Worthington Baptist Church, and loved gardening.

She is survived by a sister, Betty Smathers of North Buffalo Township, countless nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Johnson and Doris Smith, and two brothers, Donald “Jack” Smathers and Clifford Smathers.

Friends will be welcomed from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.  Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan Basham officiating.  There will be an hour of visitation in the church one hour prior to the service.  Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
