Ruth I. Chauvaux, 94 of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Kittanning, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Ruth was born February 16, 1931, in Kittanning Township, to the late Harry and Edna (Claypool) Hankey. She married Albert F. Chauvaux on April 28, 1954. They were married for 39 years.
Ruth was a devoted mother and enjoyed her family, cooking, baking and gardening. She also enjoyed hosting family picnics and holiday gatherings.
She worked in the stockroom of the former Jamesway Department Store for 16 years.
Ruth was a member of Christ-Rupp Lutheran church and later Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Tyler, Texas.
She is survived by her children: Leonard (Joann) Hankey of Ford City, Betty (David) Dunmire of Tyler, Texas, and Joyce Hull of Conover, North Carolina; grandchildren: April (Brian) Czeiner of Tyler, Texas, Matthew Dunmire of Oaxaca, Mexico, and Cristy Hull and Breanna Puckett, both of Olin, North Carolina
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; a daughter, Barbara; siblings: Harold, Harry and Beverly; and a son-in-law, Ronald Hull.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 6-8 p.m., at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Additional visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 9 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, followed by a service at 10 a.m., at Christ-Rupp Lutheran Church, 228 Rupp Church Rd., Kittanning.
