Samuel C. "Umpa" Gibson

Samuel C. "Umpa" Gibson, 65, of Ford City, died Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in ACMH Hospital.

Born July 14, 1957, in Kittanning, he was a son of the late Thomas and Marjorie (Crawford) Gibson.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends, old cars, and riding his bike.

He is survived by his children: Salina (William) Bracken of Ford City, Samuel Charles Gibson, II of Ford City, Erin Marie Welch of Murrysville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his life partner, Pam Norris of Kittanning; two sisters: Rose Hackett and Susan Stivason, both of Ford City; and a dear friend, Calvin Norris of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Gibson, and a sister, Joanne Uplinger.

Friends will be welcomed on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 11 a.m., until the time of a funeral service at 3 p.m., at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.  Interment will follow in Ford City Cemetery.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
