Timmy R. Porter, 70, of North Buffalo Township, died surrounded by his family, on September 17, 2021, which was his father's birthday.
Born February 11, 1951, in Parks Township, a son of the late William J. and Katherine (Peters) Porter.
Mr. Porter was employed a coal miner for Penn Allegheny and Rosebud After he retired, he and his brother had a contracting business, Porter Brothers Contracting.
He was a member of St. Paul's Highfield Lutheran Church in Parks Township.
Timmy enjoyed hunting, crafting, and watching his grandchildren's sporting events..
Surviving are his daughter, Misty (Tag) Hecker of Ford City; a son, Todd (Jennifer) Porter of Kittanning; four grandchildren, Megan (Brad) Smith, Morgan Hecker and Dawson and Josie Porter; one great grandson Oliver Smith, sisters, Kay Hileman of Ford City, Bonnie Shuster of Vandergrift, and Diane (Jay) Egge of Rhode Island; and a brother, Billy (Jerri) Porter of Vandergrift.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gaynell Mae Porter, who died September 7, 2020.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Welch Funeral Service LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at North Buffalo Grace Brethren Church, with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. James Rose will officiate.
