Violet J. Pechan, 83 of North Buffalo Township, passed away on December 15, 2023, at home, surrounded by her family that she loved so much.
Born April 8, 1940, in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Hulda (Dunbar) Fiscus.
For 30 years, she worked at Big River Manufacturing, then retired from M.T.W. after 10 years of service.
Mrs. Pechan was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, Ford City.
She enjoyed camping, taking care of her yard and flowers, watching TV westerns, spending time with her family and doing “overnights” with her youngest granddaughter. She loved special phone calls from her grandchildren and liked going to her great-grandchildren’s sporting events. She was also an avid Steelers fan.
Survivors include two daughters: Ruth Reinke of Leechburg and Carla (Brian) Densmore of Ford City; a son, Charles (Amy) Pechan of Leechburg; her grandchildren: Teresa, Tina, Stush, Danielle, Jeremy, Jason, Janelle, Courtney, Mikey, and Megan; her great-grandchildren: DJ, Kevin, Stanley, Jonathan, Jacob, Rachel, Gracie, Kyle, Trinity, Paisley, Bryson, Briah, Bowen, and Landon; one great-great-grandchild, Quinn; sisters, Mary Szymanski of Ford City and Betty Antanavage of Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the special people in her life that called her “Mom” and “Grammy” too.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Pechan; brothers: Albert, Ralph, and Raymond Fiscus; a sister, Florence (Sacik) Webster; and a son-in-law, Daniel Reinke.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where parting prayers will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, with the Very Rev. Eric J. Dinga, V.F., as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
