Wayne Neil Fennell, 86 of Ford City, PA passed away on Monday November 25, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family.
He was born February 9, 1938, in Ford City, PA to the late Wylie and Erma (McCoy) Fennell.
Wayne graduated from Ford City High School in 1955. He worked for West Penn Power for 43 years, retiring in 2003 as operation manager of the Kittanning division. He was a member of the Ford City Eagles, and the Masonic Temple, and a lifelong member of the Kittanning Elks. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with family and his camp in Andover, Ohio.
His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Elsie M. (Baum) Fennell, whom he married on June 22, 1957; daughter, Gail (Timothy) Sigler of Worthington; son, Terry (Tammi) Fennell of Ford City; grandchildren, Ciara (Tyler) Spence, Garrett (Danielle) Sigler, Jalana (Adam) Cogley, and Sebastian Fennell; and great-grandsons; Easton Spence, Miken Spence, Greyden Sigler, and baby Cogley due in April. He is also survived by his sister; June Wyant and brother, Roy Fennell, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his brothers Elder and Fred Fennell, an infant sister, and his beloved maltipoo, Maria.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, and from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, with Pastor Ron Shafer officiating. Interment will follow in Ford City Cemetery.
