Wesley R. Klingensmith Obituary

Wesley R. Klingensmith, 86, of Ford Cliff, died Friday, October 27, 2017, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born July 31, 1931, in Ford Cliff, he was a son of the late Albert and Nora E. (Crissman) Klingensmith.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he proudly served his country in the Korean War, and belonged to the Ford City VFW.

He was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Kittanning, and the Ford Cliff Fire Department. Mr. Klingensmith worked at PPG Industries and Schenley Distillery, and retired from Bauer Funeral Home.

He loved to read, and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed football, baseball, and the Penguins.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Jane "Betty" (Ralko) Klingensmith; his daughter, Denise (Fabian) Espinosa of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his son, Michael (Diane) Klingensmith of Natrona Heights; six grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Melissa, Michael, Vanessa, and Cassandra; five great-grandchildren, Connor, Jocelyn, Carah, Rebecca, and Camilla; a sister, Myrna (Jeff) Haney of Holland, OH; and brother, Chauncey Klingensmith of Virginia Beach, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Althea Stivason, Mildred Kijowski, Doris Ehenger, and Goldie Blaniar; and two brothers, Ron Klingensmith and Albert "Dizz" Klingensmith.

At Mr. Klingensmith's request, there will be no public visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, or to Ford Cliff Fire Department. Arrangements are in the care of Welch Funeral Home, Ford City.
