Wilbur H. Davis, 103, of Rosston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He was born in Rosston on November 3, 1921, to Harry and Sylvia (Heilman) Davis. He was a graduate of Ford City High School. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Helen (Klingensmith) Davis on September 29, 1991, and by his sister, Melda (Davis) Pepper on December 10, 1984.
He is survived by his son, James (Laura) Davis; a daughter, Nancy (Philip) Rosenberg; his grandchildren, Kimberly Nicole Rosenberg, Sean Davis, Tricia Galbraith, Pamela Hess as well as 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Wilbur is also survived by nephew, Charles (Linda) Pepper and niece, Rita (Alphonse) Kunst. During Wilbur's final years Chuck and Linda were instrumental in many ways in caring, supporting and loving Wilbur.
Wilbur worked for PPG Industries for several years. He also served in the U.S Army during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was a longtime member of Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church where he served as its Treasurer for many years. Wilbur loved to play the guitar, sing and write music. He was a longtime member of the Rosston Group Country Gospel Band which played at the Rosston Chapel every Tuesday evening. He remained active in the group well into his nineties.
Wilbur loved his family, friends and neighbors and lived his life to the fullest. He made the world a better place. He will be forever remembered and loved by those who knew him.
Frends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. A committal service will take place at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, with Pastor Marty Neal officiating. Military honors and interment will follow.
