William F. Shoop, 74, of Ford City, died Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in the Kittanning Health and Rehab Center.
He was born January 22, 1950 in Kittanning, a son of the late Harry C. and Lois Jean (Rearic) Shoop.
Bill was a member of the First Church of Ford City. He retired from Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation, having worked at both the West Leechburg and Bagdad plants.
He was a member of the Sweet Dreams Car Club, for which he formerly served as president. He was a big Nascar fan and enjoyed watching his family in dirt bike racing. He was a member of the NRA and loved fishing.
He is survived by his son, Jared Michael (Jessica) Shoop of Ford City; his daughter, Terri Jean Waughtel of Ford City; one grandchild, Cory; and one brother, Robert L. (Kelly) Shoop of McGrann.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey (Sheasley) Shoop, and a brother, Larry Shoop.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Rande Herbe officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bill's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
