It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of William Henry Brown, Sr., age 92, of Leechburg, PA, who left this world on December 16, 2024, Surrounded by his family, William passed peacefully, his unwavering spirit and love forever etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
William “Bill” was born on May 29, 1932, in a town he would call home for most of his life. He was a pillar of the Leechburg community, known for his endless kindness, his generosity, and his fierce dedication to those he loved. A man of deep passion, Bill’s life was one of service and commitment to his family. William opened his home to all, whether you were a part of the family or a friend. Although William was a quiet soul, he was a man with a strong positive presence. One thing about William “Bill”, when not at work, he could always be found at the front door in his recliner. William was not only a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, but also a man who believed in the Lord.
William graduated from Leechburg High School, where he was considered a star football player, well-known in the Valley. After graduation, he worked for a month at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation, until he enlisted in the United States Army. He served at Fort Bragg, NC, where he was honorably discharged with a National Defense Service Medal. Once he returned from the military, he continued working for Allegheny Ludlum until his retirement at the age of 65.
He is survived by his siblings: India (Duke) Allen, Helen (John) Sellers, and Howard “Virginia” Brown; his children: Traci D. (Earl) Woodard of Middletown, DE, William H. (Hillary) Brown, Jr., of Kittanning, and Neen of New Kensington; and his grandchildren: Trejean, Nadia, Maenne, Cole, and Isaiah, who brought him so much pride and joy.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Barbara A. Brown; his parents, Joseph Brown, Sr., and Agnes Marie Brown; and his siblings: Madeline (Ulers) Touchstone, Charles (Alberta) Brown, and Joseph Brown, Jr.
William’s spirit will live on in the hears of those he touched. May he rest in peace, reunited with his love, Barbara, and forever held in the embrace of God’s eternal love.
