William L. Gaiser, 82, of Cadogan, died Monday, March 13, 2023, in Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Greensburg.
Born September 20, 1940, in Slate Lick, he was a son of the late Martin and Ida Grace (Streightif) Gaiser.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was employed as a coal miner with R&P (Emily) Mines in Indiana.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was also a member of Cadogan Field and Stream.
He is survived by his daughter, Lama Jean Bureau (Bob); three grandchildren: Molly Bureau, Randy Bureau (Kelsey), and Martina Gaiser (fiancé, Ryan); a great-grandson, Felix Blaine Bureau; two sisters, Betty Simpson and Anne Marie Himes (Howard); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emily M. Gaiser; his son, John Martin Gaiser; and a brother, Richard Gaiser.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., where a service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, with Pastor Marty Neal officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, South Buffalo Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any of the following organizations: Cadogan Field and Stream (for the children’s fishing tournament; UPMC Children’s Hospital; or Ford City Public Library.
