John Lloyd Law, 82, of Ford Cliff, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Butler Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Born January 13, 1936 in Ford Cliff, he was a son of the late James and Maria (Began) Law.

A lifelong resident of Ford Cliff, he was a staple in the community, and left his mark on many.  In his early years, John worked at Allegheny Ludlum as a steelworker.  He retired in 1998 after 32 years of service. He was also a life member of the Ford Cliff VFD and belonged to the Marienville Rod and Gun Club.

John spent his retirement loving life.  He enjoyed going to the family camp in Marienville, which was a labor of love for him.  He also enjoyed fishing, camping, sitting on his front porch, drinking Budweiser beer, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and most importantly, his beautiful wife of over 60 years, Joyce.

John is survived by his wife, Joyce (Evans) Law; three sons, John (Melissa Deshler) Law of Clearwater, FL, Jeff (Denise) Law of Ford Cliff, and Joseph Law of Clearwater, FL; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, James S. Law of Decatur, IL, and Thomas (Ruth) Law of Connecticut; and three sisters, Sally (Ray) Stitt of Ford City, Annette Law of Florida, and Nancy Law of Indiana, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, and a sister, Marian Varner.

Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, with Rev. Robert Pascoe, officiating.  Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.  To send an online condolence to his family, please visit www.welchfh.com.

The Kingdom of Heaven gained one of the best angels it could have. John was an amazing man, and will be missed dearly. He introduced me to some of the finest trout fishing in the world, and I will forever be grateful for those cherished memories! Lots of laughs shared... My deepest condolences to the family. It's not good bye old buddy, but rather I'll see you later. Your friend, Tater

Joyce and Boys,

My sincere condolences on the loss of your husband and dad. I will never forget when they stopped in Louisiana to see me. I didn't know John was ill. Normally, I would try to make an effort to say hi when I was in town. I truly regret not doing so the last time I was home. Just know my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Love,
Hallie

Meeting John and Joyce was a true pleasure. When John was in Joe and my home he brought it to life. He was funny and brought a smile to everyone's face. John brought joy and happiness to Joe and everyone in his life and he will be truly missed by family and all who knew him. John will always be loved all of us.

You touched so many lives Pap and you left a lasting impression on mine. You will forever be in my heart and not a day will go by that I won't think of you. I hope that you are at peace and find comfort that you are no longer fighting. Your spirit will live on in all of us grandchildren and everyone else you came across in life. You were one of a kind Pap, a true blessing to all that knew you. I love and miss you.
